Full-Time Associates
JoS. A. Bank strives to offer the most competitive and affordable benefit options available while providing Associates flexibility and variety in their benefit choices. Full-time Associates, defined as maintaining a regular schedule of 30 or more hours per week, are eligible for benefits after the waiting periods explained below. More details on these plans are described in the Benefits Guide that is mailed to the Associate’s home address prior to benefit eligibility. Below is a brief description of the JoS. A. Bank benefits you would be offered if you become employed as a full-time JoS. A. Bank Associate and satisfy the applicable waiting periods:
These benefits are available to eligible Full-Time Associates immediately:
- Holiday Pay ~~~ As a JoS. A. Bank Associate you enjoy 11 paid holidays. Some positions are required to work on certain holidays, so if this applies to you, your holiday converts to a “floating” holiday that can be used at a mutually agreed upon date.
- Discount on JoS. A. Bank Merchandise ~~~ You, your spouse, parents, and children receive 50% off the purchase of tailored clothing which includes suits, sportcoats and dress trousers. You also receive a 40% discount on all other merchandise purchases (including tuxedo rentals) and a 20% discount on purchases from a JoS. A. Bank Factory Outlet.
- Direct Deposit ~~~ If desired, your weekly pay can be deposited directly into your checking and/or savings accounts.
- Vacation & Sick Leave ~~~ Paid time off is important to recharge, renew, rest and relax to help you balance work- and home-life responsibilities. You begin earning vacation and sick time after only a two month waiting period.
- Medical & Prescription Insurance ~~~ To best meet the healthcare needs of you and your family, you can select from three PPO medical plans which offer a wide range of healthcare options. Prescription coverage is included as an integral part of your medical plan and has co-pays which are separated into three tiers: Generic, Preferred Brand and Non-Preferred Brand.
- Wellness Program ~ Changing and maintaining good health behaviors is challenging so we want to reward you for your efforts with meaningful incentives through our voluntary wellness program administered by Vitality. By participating, you have the opportunity to lower your weekly medical payroll deductions and reward yourself with valuable name-brand merchandise!
- Dental Insurance ~~~ In-network visits for preventative services are generally covered at 100%. Our dental plan offers both in and out of network benefits for basic and major dental procedures. Plus orthodontia is available for dependents under age 19.
- Vision Insurance ~~~ Eye exams are covered annually at 100% when using an in-network provider. Frames, lenses and contacts are reimbursed according to the plan’s fee schedule.
- Flexible Spending Accounts ~~~ For dependent care expenses and/or medical expenses not covered under health insurance, you can enroll in our Flexible Spending plans to put a portion of your pay aside pre-tax (which decreases your taxable income) to use later to pay for eligible expenses.
- Commuter Benefits ~ This benefit offers you the ability to save money by paying for commuting expenses with pre-tax dollars!
- Life Insurance ~~~ At no cost to you, JoS. A. Bank provides basic group life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, equal to your annual salary. You may also purchase additional life insurance for you, your spouse and dependent(s) at group rates with the convenience of payroll deductions.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) ~~~ The EAP is a confidential resource for you and your family to use to obtain no-cost professional assistance for personal problems which may adversely affect job performance or overall quality of life.
- 401(k) Retirement Plan ~~~ It is never too early or too late to save toward retirement. Our 401(k) plan allows you to put a portion of your pay aside pre-tax to save for your “golden years”. You begin accruing toward the Company’s discretionary match the beginning of the month following one year of employment.
- Legal Services ~~~ The legal plan covers a broad range of legal services from general telephone advice and office consultations to wills and estate planning, powers of attorney, trusts, real estate matters and much more!
- Short-Term (STD) & Long-Term Disability (LTD) ~~~ Company-paid STD coverage automatically begins the month following one year of full-time employment. If you are away from work due to illness or injury (doctor certified), this plan continues a portion of your pay for up to 24 weeks. LTD may be purchased at low group rates during the open enrollment following one year of full-time employment.
- Tuition Reimbursement ~~~ JoS. A. Bank encourages you to further your education by reimbursing a portion of the cost of preapproved job-related courses. To be eligible for tuition reimbursement, you must be a full-time Associate for one year.
- Holiday Pay ~~~ Generally, the JoS. A. Bank Corporate offices recognize 11 paid holidays. As a Part-Time Associate you will be paid for a holiday only when your department is closed on a day you are scheduled to work and you have not been re-scheduled during the holiday week.

Medical & Prescription Discount Program ~~~ To best meet the healthcare needs of you and your family, you can select from three Limited-Benefit medical plans which offer a range of healthcare options. A prescription discount program is included as part of your medical plan and has co-pays which are separated into two tiers: Generic and Brand.
The following benefits are also included with your enrollment in the Medical & Prescription Discount Program;- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) ~~~ The EAP is a confidential resource for you to obtain nocost professional assistance for personal problems which may adversely affect job performance or overall quality of life. The EAP will also help with local resources in your community for information and assistance on a wide range of topics.
- Health Information Nurse Line 24/7 ~~~ The Health Information Nurse Line is a specially trained team of registered nurses that you can call around the clock for health advice.
- Accidental Life Insurance Death Benefit ~~~ At no additional cost to you the Medical Plan provides a death benefit to your beneficiary in the event of your accidental death.
- Dental/Vision Plan ~~~ The Dental Plan provides coverage for common preventative and basic procedures. The vision discount program allows covered members to receive savings off of frames, lenses and eye examinations.
